I spotted this marker when I went downtown Nashville for a coin show.

The Hermitage

Today Kaitlyn was a Docent at Andrew Jackson's home, The Hermitage. Fortunately they are finally beginning repairs on the home. Unfortunately that cost me some good pictures.

Red Mound

This marker is near Parker's Crossroads, where Forrest commanded "Fight 'em both ways" when confronted by two Union Brigades, and describes an early settlement.

Shiloh National Battlefield Park

Lipscomb and the Loveless

Lipscomb University is where Allison is finishing her Education Degree. The Loveless cafe is a Nashville landmark at the end of the Natchez Trace.

The Civil War's Battle of Nashville

We went over to Lipscomb University today and I snapped these photos of markers referencing fighting during the Battle of Nashville that took place near the college.

Fort Conde

Fort Conde, or Fort Charlotte, as it was known when the Spanish took it from the British during the American Revolution was located in what is today Mobile, AL. I went down with my son kyle for the 230th Anniversary of the seige this past weekend. We drove by the original site which now holds a 1/3 scale replica in downtown Mobile.

Sevier Station

This is the Sevier Station blockhouse located in Clarksville, TN. It reportedly was used by settlers in the late 1700s. This Sevier, was a brother of COL Sevier of King's Mountain fame and first governor of Tennessee. The City of Clarksville has plans to build an interprtive center describing it as well as the nearby earthworks from the Civil War era Fort Defiance.

Rippavilla Plantation

I went to Rippavilla Plantation yesterday for my reenactment unit's annual meeting. It is located about 30 minutes south of Nashville.

North Georgia Home

Returning from a quick trip "home" to see myDad in Northeastern Georgia, I took a picture of the marker for the county.
