Travellers Rest and the Battle of Nashville
















After taking the kids to the mall to spend their Christmas money, I rewarded myself with a stop on the way home. Travellers Rest was a large plantation house in Nashville. The owners were supporters of the Confederate cause and the wife boasted that the proudest moment of her life was when she had 7 Confederate generals eating at her table.

Finally a Battlefield - Parker's Crossroads







I was able to go by the Parker's Crossroads Battlefield when we had to go toward Memphis last week. Nathan Bedford Forrest fought off two Yankee brigades trying to destroy his one brigade. He was qouted as saying "Charge 'em both ways."
