Mansker's Station

This is a blockhouse at the reconstruction of Mansker's Station. Mansker's Station was a colonial frontier fort back when Tennessee was still part of North Carolina. Mansker's Station and the Bowen Plantation are located here in Goodlettsville. The Bowen House (1787) is one of the oldest brick structures in this part of Tennessee. I was there for my volunteer orientation today so expect some future pics of me looking like I'm in an earlier century.

Bowling Green

We decided to take a day trip and drove up to Bowling Green, KY.

Franklin, TN

On my never ending quest to visit every battlefield (at least once) that I can, I took this picture on a Civil War stop. I'll try and keep my finger out of the way in the future.

Kershaw-Cornwallis House

This is my first post in what will hopefully be a long and interesting journey through Southern history. I took this Camden, SC in July of this year.
